Refund policy
Return & Refund Policy
ForgeOptic is a small, independently operated business, and many of our products are produced individually using desktop 3D printing. We want you to receive the product you ordered in proper working condition. If something is wrong with your order, please contact us within 14 days of delivery.
Eligible Returns and Refunds
Returns, replacements, or refunds may be available when:
- An item arrives damaged or broken.
- An item has a manufacturing or printing defect that materially affects its intended function.
- You receive the wrong product.
- The product materially differs from what was ordered or described on the product page.
- ForgeOptic makes an error in the personalization of a product.
Please contact ForgeOptic within 14 days of delivery and include your order information, a description of the problem, and photographs showing the issue when applicable.
We may request that the item be returned before issuing a replacement or refund. If an approved return is required because of an error, defect, or damage attributable to ForgeOptic, ForgeOptic will cover the reasonable cost of return shipping.
Depending on the circumstances, we may offer a replacement or refund. In some cases, particularly for inexpensive products, returning the defective item may not be necessary.
Normal Characteristics of 3D-Printed Products
ForgeOptic products are manufactured using additive 3D-printing processes. They are designed primarily to be functional, affordable, and accessible rather than extensively cosmetically finished.
Unless otherwise stated on the product page, products are supplied substantially as they come from the printing and assembly process and are not sanded, polished, or finished to the appearance of an injection-molded commercial product.
As a result, normal characteristics may include:
- Visible layer lines
- Small seams or surface inconsistencies
- Minor rough areas
- Marks where supports or the print bed contacted the part
- Small amounts of stringing or other cosmetic printing artifacts
- Minor variations in color, surface finish, or appearance between prints
- Minor dimensional variations that do not materially affect the intended function of the product
These characteristics are inherent to the manufacturing process and are not considered defects for purposes of this policy.
A cosmetic imperfection may qualify as a defect if it is unusually severe or materially affects the proper use of the product.
Change-of-Mind Returns
Because ForgeOptic is a small business producing products in limited quantities and often printing items specifically to fulfill individual orders, we generally do not accept returns solely because a customer changes their mind, no longer wants the item, or decides after delivery that they would prefer a different product.
Please review product descriptions, dimensions, photographs, specifications, and compatibility information before ordering.
Personalized Products
Products made with customer-requested personalization are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged unless the item is damaged, defective, incorrectly produced, or ForgeOptic made an error in the requested personalization.
Please carefully review any names, initials, text, dimensions, or other information submitted for personalization. ForgeOptic is not responsible for errors contained in the information submitted by the customer.
Customer-Caused Damage
Returns or refunds are not available for damage caused after delivery, including damage resulting from misuse, improper storage, modification, excessive force, improper assembly, normal wear, or use inconsistent with the product's intended purpose.
Shipping Damage
If an item appears to have been damaged during shipping, please contact us within 14 days of delivery and include photographs of the damaged item and, when possible, the shipping packaging. This information helps us determine the appropriate replacement or refund and address the issue with the carrier.
Refunds
Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method. Please allow time for your bank or payment provider to process the refund after it has been issued.
Original shipping charges are generally non-refundable unless the refund results from an error by ForgeOptic or the entire order arrived damaged or materially defective.
Starting a Return or Claim
Please contact ForgeOptic through the contact information provided on our website or reply to your order confirmation email. Do not send an item back without first contacting us, as a return may not be necessary.
Please include:
- Your name
- Your order number
- The product involved
- A brief description of the problem
- Photographs of the item when relevant
We will review the issue and provide return, replacement, or refund instructions as appropriate.
