Practice capsulorhexis without needing a wet lab. The ForgeOptic Capsulorhexis Simulator provides a simple, reusable platform for practicing continuous curvilinear capsulorhexis technique using easily replaceable practice material like Saran Wrap or Aluminum Foil. Compact and easy to keep at home or at work, it was designed for residents who want more hands-on practice whenever they have the time.

Simply lift the magnetically attached ring, slide your material of choice on top of the base, and snap the magnetic ring back on top. Then, use your capsulorhexis forceps or a cystotome to practice continuous curvilinear capsulorhexis for as long as you want!

This product pair beautifully with our Smartphone Microscope for an easy at home microscope simulator set up.

THE DETAILS

Built for repetition

The capsulorhexis is one of the highest-stakes steps in cataract surgery, and one of the hardest to rehearse. This simulator allows any resident to practice key techniques at home in order to build muscle memory before they ever reach the OR.

The top ring pops in and out in seconds, so you can practice frequent, constant repetitions. The diameter is 13 mm, wide enough to simulate a normal eye's white-to-white and have adequate room to create a perfect 5.5 mm curvilinear capsulorhexis.
